LAH successfully organized a huge Bone Marrow Drive campaign at local churches and temples all around Houston. Vietnamese people were educated about leukemia and its risks, and about how to become potential marrow donors. Here’s an interesting fact: Houston has registered a total of 542 Vietnamese, since 1991. From Jan. of 2006 to Jan. of 2007, only 97 were registered. In one day alone, LAH registered about 250 Vietnamese! In just one day, LAH increased the Vietnamese donor count in Houston (that took about 16 years to build) by almost 50%.
